My great-grandmother, Anna, emigrated from Sweden in 1888 and settled in Superior, Wisconsin. Here she is in her garden in the 1920s. Her grandson, Melvin, gave me this photograph.

Hmm. I wonder how they might be related. My great-grandmother Anna Adolphson, only had one daughter, Bertha, who never married. But she had several sons. Is that the connection?
They lived in Superior Wisconsin.

Linda,
I am Swedish, but live in Atlanta. Starting in the 1980s, when I first moved to the States, my parents, sister and I did genealogical research to get in touch Anna (Elofsson) Adolphson's American family and reconnect our families across the ocean after a separation of more than 100 years. (Anna emigrated in 1888).

It's been a great pleasure for us to get to know Anna's grandson Melvin and his family and Anna's granddaughter Dorothy. I was thrilled to see your note on my blog.
I'd be happy to share the Swedish family story and photographs if you or someone in your family is interested.
Hope to hear from you.
